To this day, the Foundation has stayed true to its roots while expanding to promote science among youth and to support components of US policy issues pertaining to science.

The Richard Lounsbery Award is a prize given in alternate years to young (aged 45 and below) French and American scientists
to recognize extraordinary scientific achievement in biology and medicine. The prize is intended to stimulate research and encourage reciprocal scientific exchanges between the
United States and France.
